Minutes of Meeting
August 11, 2016
Board Meeting

The regular monthly business meeting of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association Board of Trustees was called to order at 7 pm on Thursday August 11th, 2016.  Trustees in attendance were Chris Hurless, Paul Buelow, Dave Sherman, Christine Sylvia, Eileen Richards, and Brandy Bradford.    Also in attendance was Barb Simeona.  Raymond Byrd made his absence known.

~ MONTHLY REMINDERS~

Any changes to the outside of your home must have
an approved architectural control form on file
prior to work being done on the home.

Molasses Creek/Park Pipeline – Nothing new to present.

Homeowner Appeals – There was Board discussion regarding the wording of the CC&R letters.

Community Events – Nothing new to report.

Pride In Ownership – The award was given to the Ammon Family located at 13511 SE 161st Pl.  Thank you from the entire Association for taking pride in your home!  Nominations are now being accepted for August and September.

Eileen made a motion that was 2nd and approved to allocate 2 more pride in ownership awards this year.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting – A motion was made 2nd and approved to accept the July meeting minutes as amended.

The word “the” should be taken out before the name “Kim” and it should be clarified that the Chief Engineer was in the park.

Financial Report – The monthly financial report was accepted as presented. 

Treasurer’s Report – Ray will need any 2017 budget proposals before the September meeting.

Architectural Control Report – Nothing new to report.

Common Properties Report Brandy presented print-outs of a variety of “Doggie Stations” that could be purchased and placed in front of the park.  The only ongoing cost would be the restocking of the bags.  Installation is a fence post that Dave said he would install if the HOA purchased the materials.  Bags cost $65 for a quantity of 2,000.

A motion was made, 2nd and approved to allocate $350 to purchase the Doggie Station to be installed in front of the park.

Brandy asked that a new basketball hoop net be purchased.

Dave noted that perhaps a more severe trimming could be done of the bushes in the front entryway.  Chris asked that an email be sent to him with the request and he will send it along to the landscape contractor.

Covenant Enforcement All homes in violation were reviewed. 

There was discussion regarding a home that appears to be subleasing to multiple parties.  The Board will discuss further how to approach this issue. 

Unfinished Business See the outstanding action items below.

New Business
Brandy & Paul looked into websites – various options were discussed.

Brandy brought up the possibility of a new big toy/swings in the park.  She is willing to talk to the company that moved the current toy and see what they suggest it would cost to replace it.

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm.

The next two meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be the held on Thursday, September 22 and Thursday, October 13, both at 7 pm.  These meetings are in the portable building at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE. 

All residents are welcome to attend.
